KITCHEN EQUIPMENT
Tablecloths are available on request for residents only and the deposit will be held until they have been washed and ironed after use and speedily returned to the Booking Secretary. There is crockery and cutlery for 100 people plus saucepans and roasting pans. There are no glasses, jugs, glass bowls, sharp knives, cooking utensils, tin opener or bottle opener in general use. Please bring your own.
Instructions for the dishwasher and gas cooker are on the kitchen notice board and the appliances.
END OF HIRE
The Hirer shall be responsible for leaving the premises and surrounding area in a clean and tidy condition, properly locked and secured, including the fire doors, unless directed otherwise, and any contents temporarily removed from their original and usual positions properly replaced.
All lights, water heaters, immersion heater, hand dryers in the toilets, all kitchen appliances and heating switched off.
Please leave the fridges and dishwasher clean, switched off with doors open.
All rubbish, including food waste, must be taken away by the Hirer- There is no rubbish collection at the hall so all rubbish must be taken away by the Hirer or outside caterers.
CANCELLATIONS
If a booking is cancelled less than 14 days in advance of the hire date, the hire charge is not refundable. 50% of the hire charge will be refunded with 14-28 days’ notice. Bookings cancelled more than 4 weeks in advance will be fully refunded.

FINAL CHECKS ON LEAVING
- All doors (including fire doors) and windows locked and secure
- All appliances switched off and unplugged, fridge doors left open
- All lights switched off, including lights inside ladies and gents toilets (light in between toilets has a movement sensor so no light switch for this)
- Hot water, hall and bar heating switched off in entrance hall
- All rubbish taken away (we have no rubbish collection).
- The only outside light left on will be the one by the main door- automatic

CONDITIONS OF HIRE
The Hirer shall be responsible for, and indemnify the Committee/Trustees against any claim, demand, action proceeding and cost arising from the use of the premises in pursuance of the hiring.
During the period of hire, the Hirer is responsible for the supervision of the fabric and their contents: their care, safety from damage however slight or change of any sort and the behaviour of all persons using the premises whatever their capacity.
It is the responsibility of the Hirer to ensure that:
- the current risk assessment relating to Covid-19 is followed
- activities at the premises do not endanger those present
- the use of the premises does not cause disturbance to nearby residents and passers-by
- that everyone leaves as quietly as possible
- the volume of amplified sound is under control
- all parts of the premises open to the public shall have sufficient lighting to enable adequate supervision
- no alterations or addition to the electric installations may be made without authority, nor may any circuits be overloaded
- no Sellotape, Bluetac and/or drawing pins are used on the walls or doors. There is a wooden border around the walls which can be used for hanging decorations etc.
- any damage to property, furniture or any equipment should be reported to the Booking Secretary, and the Hirer shall make good to the satisfaction of the Committee/Trustees the cost of the damage
- all music on Saturday must cease by midnight
- any damage or losses to the amenities is reported to the Booking Secretary and/or a Committee Member as soon as possible. Also report any failure of equipment belonging to the hall
- the number of persons on the premises at any one time does not exceed 120. The Hirer shall ensure that they or a nominated person is in attendance during the whole period of hire
- where more than 100 people are present the Hirer or nominated person is assisted by at least one other person. Supervision is most important where most of those present are under the age of 18
- the premises are not used for any other purpose than that described in the hiring agreement and that no sub-hire or use of the premises takes place. The premises must not be used for any unlawful purpose or in an unlawful way. No actions must take place or anything brought onto the premises, which may endanger the same, or render invalid any insurance policies in respect of. No consumption of alcohol without written permission in the form of a valid licence should be allowed. PLEASE CHECK WITH BOOKING SECRETARY IF CONSIDERING THE USE OF A BOUNCY CASTLE.
- such licences as may be needed are obtained, whether for the sale of intoxicating liquor, from the Performing Rights Society, from Phonographic Performance Ltd, or otherwise, and these are observed
- nothing is done on or in relation to the premises in contravention of the law relating to gaming, betting and lotteries
- the conditions and regulations made by the Fire Authority in respect of the premises are complied with. Similarly, the conditions and regulations made by the local magistrates court or otherwise, particularly in connection with any event which includes public dancing or music or other similar entertainment or stage plays.
- if preparing, serving or selling food, all relevant food, health and hygiene legislation and regulations are observed. The Hirer shall ensure that any electrical appliances brought by them to the premises and used there, shall be safe and in good working order and used in a safe manner
- any activity for children under 8 years of age is compliant with legislation and that only fit and proper persons have access to the children
- all floors, especially the kitchen and toilets, are kept dry during the hiring period
Before admittance of the public/ Hirer’s guests, the Hirer or nominated person should:
- check that every exit door is unlocked and will easily open fully from the inside, ensuring that any keys and other security fastenings are removed
- walk each internal route leading from the exit doors to ensure that the route is unobstructed and safe to use
- walk each external route leading from the exit doors to the assembly point to ensure that the route is unobstructed and safe to use
- unless the premises are being used in the daylight without restriction of natural light, switch on the appropriate general lighting to ensure that the exit doors, internal and external routes and signs are illuminated
- have some means to record those present, e.g. guest list, signing in register
